“We all know that Alfa Romeo has much bigger plans for the U.S. market than just the pint-sized 4C sports car. But we didn’t know exactly what those plans were…until now.”

As we were on the scene in Arese, Italy, near Milan, to catch the unveiling of the new Giulia sport sedan, that will go on sale in the US next summer.

Shown here in its top Quadrifoglio configuration that includes a 510-horsepower V6 engine. It’s rear-wheel-drive of course with all-wheel-drive available, and is based on an all-new platform for the brand that will also carry a crossover sometime in the future.

Low weight, distributed equally between the axles; active aero elements; and a 0-60 time of under 4 seconds are just a few things you can expect from this Alfa.

Marking the brand’s 105th anniversary, the debut took place in Alfa Romeo’s new Museum, where their century-plus history is on full display.

“We’ll have plenty more info on the Giulia after we get behind the wheel for a little hands-on research.

…and that’s it for this week’s Motor News.”
