The Nissan Altima is getting a slight price increase for the 2023 model year, starting at $26,385 after the $1,095 destination charge.

This is for the Altima S equipped with the front-wheel drive layout; a similarly equipped 2022 model started at $25,525 with destination. The S is one of two trims only available in front-wheel drive, joined only by the SR VC-Turbo.

Following the S are the SV, SR and SL trims, all three of which can be had in either front- or all-wheel drive. The SV AWD will cost $28,685 with destination; an SV FWD will cost slightly less at $27,185, making AWD a $1,500 option. For reference, last year’s SV AWD started at $27,925. The top-trim Altima SR VC-Turbo will start at $36,085. As the name suggests, it’s powered by a 2.0-liter Variable Compression (VC) Turbocharged inline-four, supplying 248 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque.

The trend continues with each trim seeing a slight increase in starting price. With the 2023 model year, the Altima sees an updated grille and brand logo, standard LED headlights, more wheel options and two new paint options. The interior has been updated with revised instrument panel finishings.

Our Road Test of the 2019 Altima concluded with a round of applause for this modern midsize sedan staple. And after a whole year of Long Term testing a 2019 Altima, we agreed that it was a genuinely pleasurable driving experience; smooth and agile with a comfortable interior. Back then, we said Nissan was committed to keeping sedans great, and we suspect that to hold true with the 2023 model.
