Among the many standout cars that would have been crowd pleasers at the canceled Geneva International Motor Show is the return of a legend, the 2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA high performance sedan. The car pays homage to the Giulia GTA of 1965 and also will honor the brand’s upcoming 110th year anniversary. The car is fitted with the top output 2.9 V-6 Bi-Turbo used in the Giulia Quadrifoglio rated at 540 hp. With the extensive use of lightweight materials, this 100% street-legal variant sees a weight reduction of 220 lb compared with the standard Quadrifoglio. We say street-legal since one look at the twin racing seats inside and you would be incline to think this Giulia is a track-only edition. That impression is furthered by numerous exterior additions such as a carbon fiber rear wing, specific side skirts, center locking 20-inch wheels, and active front splitter. Handling at high speeds has been improved by widening the front and rear wheel tracks by 50mm and developing a new set of springs, shock absorbers and bushings for the suspension systems. GTA availability world-wide will be limited to 500 examples with each owner also receiving a personalized experience package kit that includes a Bell helmet, and an Alpinestars racing suit, gloves, and shoes.
