Today Honda’s premium Acura brand formally introduced its all-new 2022 MDX utility.  As expected from the earlier prototype, the  new MDX has bolder lines, a more exaggerated grille, and an interior befitting the brand’s luxury status. Still, in keeping with Acura heritage, the three-row interior will also be highly functional with sporty pretensions. With numerous high tech features, the interior's kinship with the exotic NSX sports car is obvious at first glance. The new MDX, powered by the brand's staple 290-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine, connected to a 10-speed automatic transmission, will be available with fourth-generation Super Handling All-Wheel Drive. Along with an all-new platform, one of the biggest mechanical changes is the use of a double-wishbone front suspension for the first time on an MDX. That should provide a big boost in handling as well as compliant ride over the McPherson struts that were used previously. Initially trim levels will include the MDX with the Technology Package, with the sporty A-Spec package, and with top level Advance Package. A V6 turbocharged MDX Type S will also be available sometime after launch. The new MDX will begin arriving at dealers shortly after the first of the year.
