Kia hopes to take artificial intelligence even further. They’re developing what they call the Real-time Emotion Adaptive Driving System. The technology can read the emotions of the driver, and then adjust the atmosphere in the cabin to make it a better driving experience. No voice command is required, they say the artificial intelligence will assess the driver’s emotional state and then create an enjoyable surrounding. They’re working with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on the system. Kia’s glimpse into the future assumes autonomous driving will be the norm. This puts a sense of humanity into the technology. Kia plans to show how this works at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next week.
