GlobalData, a leading data and analytics company, is forecasting that by the year 2028, autonomous vehices will account for 3 million vehicles produced.  Based on the number of partnerships being formed between traditional automakers and advanced software developers, GlobalDat predicts that Society of Automotive Engineering (SAE) Level three and four automated light vehicles will see a big rise in volumes over the next decade. Companies need to be developing and testing the relevant technologies now in order to be competitive and participate in the market for those vehicles as it develops.  GlobalData cites the $4Bn partnership between Hyundai and Aptiv to develop a market-ready robo-taxi platform by 2022, but many other carmakers are jumping into the AV pool; as Ford and Volkswagen, BMW and Daimler AG and others are forming partnerships to develop future mobility solutions.
