Cadillac is taking one of their most iconic vehicles to a luxurious new level. MotorWeek is in Los Angeles for the world premiere of the 2021 Cadillac Escalade.

The fifth generation Escalade wears Cadillac’s latest vision of modern, elegant design on the front fascia. The rear is classic Cadillac with vertical tail-lights.
Moving this massive luxo-ride is a 6.2-liter V8. It delivers 420-horsepower.  For the first time, the Escalade is offered with an available 277-horsepower 3.0-liter turbo-diesel engine, which is designed to produce 460 lb-ft of torque. Both powerplants are matched with a 10-speed automatic. The sumptuous ride is courtesy of all-new independent rear suspension, Magnetic Ride Control, and new Air Ride Adaptive Suspension.

Inside Cadillac’s full-size luxury SUV is a true lap of luxury, from the expansive dash to the plush seats. Soft touch surfaces, with a lot of leather, bring a true premium touch to your fingertips.  Third-row legroom increases more than 10.4 inches giving someone six feet tall ample legroom.

Naturally with all this luxury there’s advanced technology. A curved Organic Light Emitting Diode (OLED) display measures more than 38 total diagonal inches. The resolution is twice the pixel density of a 4K television. The navigation display in the gauge cluster is large and crystal clear. The enhanced Super Cruise includes automated lane change.

The first Escalade rolled off the assembly line in Arlington, Texas, on Feb. 8, 1998. The latest evolution of this large, luxurious SUV arrives in dealers in the fall. We’ll know more about the price the closer it gets to the showrooms.
