2023 Toyota Sequoia TRD PRO

Toyota is showcasing a variety of new vehicles at the Chicago Auto Show, including the all-new 2023 Sequoia, 2022 Tundra Capstone and all-electric 20234 bZ4X.

The 2023 Sequoia SUV features an all-new hybrid powertrain: a twin-turbo V6 hybrid i-FORCE MAX. First unveiled in the Tundra pickup, this powerplan is capable of displacing 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque. The Sequoia is built upon a body-on-frame chassis; specifically, a fully boxed frame is said to provide increased handling and ride quality.

Available in five grades, including a new-to-Sequoia Capstone trim, this three-row SUV is expected to arrive this summer. You can see our initial coverage of the Sequoia and it’s available trims here.

The Tundra Capstone is a new luxury grade for Toyota’s full size pickup. Powered by the aforementioned twin-turbo V6 hybrid, it puts out the same 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque. This is achieved by a unique motor generator mounted in the bell housing between the engine and 10-speed automatic transmission.

While performance is impressive, the aim of the Capstone trim is supreme luxury and comfort. Toyota has outfitted these models with large 22-inch chrome wheels, a distinctive grille and chrome mirror caps, chrome “TUNDRA” tailgate inserts, and various chrome trim pieces. Inside, the Capstone is headlined with standard semi-aniline leather-trimmed seats in a trim-exclusive black and white color combo. A panoramic moonroof, heated steering wheel and 14-inch infotainment touchscreen all come standard.

The Tundra Capstone will arrive at dealerships sometime Spring 2022. You can read up on our initial coverage here.

Finally, Toyota has brought their all-electric bZ4X SUV to the show, representing the first entry in a series of global battery-electric vehicles; Toyota’s “Beyond Zero” brand umbrella. Arriving as the 2023 model, the bZ4X is built on an all new e-TNGA BEV-dedicated platform. Currently, Toyota’s estimated range of the XLE front-wheel drive model is up to 250 miles on a single charge.

Boasting a slew of tech and safety features, the bZ4X is projected to go on sale Spring 2022. We have a more in-depth look at the bZ4X here.

Alongside the Toyota show area, which features 59 vehicles in a 44,980 square-foot display, guests will be able to get behind the wheel of the 2022 Tundra on the Toyota Track, adjacent to the Toyota display in the South Exhibit Hall.
