Fiat has announced it will discontinue production of the current-generation Fiat 500 and 500e in North America this year, and those models will no longer be sold here once current inventory runs out, sometime in calendar year 2020. 500L and 500X crossover models will continue to be marketed in North America, along with the Fiat 124 Spider.   The 500 model was re-launched in the U.S. in 2007, after a 27-year absence for the brand, and achieved the 2-million-unit production milestone in 2017. The 500 and 500e are currently manufactured at plants in Poland and Mexico. No word yet from FCA on what model may take up the slack at the plant in Mexico.
