The 2021 SEMA show gives manufacturers a chance to highlight new vehicles in their lineups with custom builds across the spectrum. This year, Ford has used the opportunity to share more than 40 unique projects created alongside industry partners, utilizing platforms such as the 2022 Maverick pickup and Mach-E SUV.

The Tucci Maverick was made in collaboration with Tucci Hot Rods, focussing on tarmac performance and fast, yet functional, drag pack looks. The base XLT Maverick is dressed in beefy fender flares and an elongated front lip, 3D-printed by Tucci, matched by the rally-esque spoiler. The stock 2.0-liter ecoboost all-wheel drive is mated to a custom Borla catback and finished off with dual carbon fiber tips. Extra track performance is forged by coilover shocks and custom wheels wrapped by meaty rubber-- and in order for the driver to stay equally planted, RECARO Sportsters replace the cabin seats. The Tucci truck utilized official Ford accessories, too, including a hard rollup bed cover, spray-in bedliner, and tailgate spoiler.

Mustangs have been known for their California roots, so it’s no surprise to see the Mach-E California Route One concept by Neil Tjin. What is surprising is the teal green accents contrasting the bright orange paint by way of custom badging and custom LED headlights from LIGHTWURKZ. This Mach-E is fitted with custom-built solar panels, but not to power the car itself; rather, to fuel the teal green RayVolt USA electric bicycle affixed to the rear via a Thule e-bike rack. A car that looks fast standing still needs a way to slow down quick-- thus, Baer 6s six-piston front and rear brakes, shielded by wide Falken tires, have been added. A full airlift suspension from Hoppo’s Suspension has also been fitted.
