The Ford F-Series has been reported as America’s best-selling truck for 2022 with more than 640,000 sales, marking its 46th consecutive year on top.

Not only that, Ford claims the F-Series has taken home the gold for America’s best-selling vehicle overall for its 41st year. Not too surprising, considering the fact that 2022 saw the sale of an F-Series truck every 49 seconds on average.

F-Series is, of course, a blanket term for many of Ford’s trucks, including F-150’s of all trims, the Super Duty range and relatively new models like the all-electric F-150 Lightning; though bear in mind that this doesn’t include models like the Maverick and Ranger. According to Ford, if you were to take every F-Series sold last year and line them bumper-to-bumper, the conga line of trucks would stretch roughly 2,400 miles– further than the driving distance from Los Angeles to Detroit.

“The Ford truck team’s ability to anticipate customer needs, continuously innovate, and provide best-in-class levels of capability and performance has helped make F-Series the sales leader  time and time again,” said Kumar Galhotra, president, Ford Blue. “We’re honored and humbled  that our customers have helped us achieve this milestone for more than four decades.”

With the new year comes the 75th anniversary of the Ford F-Series, first offered in 1948. We expect to see the all-new Super Duty arriving in dealers early this year, and we can’t wait to see what else, if anything, Ford has cooking for this milestone.
