Ford has apparently breached the 100,000 beachhead in reservations for its upcoming 2022 Ford Maverick compact pickup truck. This bit of good news on Ford’s latest gamble comes from a Twitter comment made by Ford CEO Jim Farley. Farley also allowed that most of the reservations come from three states-California, Florida, and truck happy Texas. The Maverick is designed to appeal to personal use buyers, especially to those looking for an entry level vehicle besides a traditional car or small utility. The free reservations are not firm orders but it is likely that at least half will eventually be converted into guaranteed sales. With a base price just under $20,000, Maverick deliveries will start this fall.
