The Ford Mustang is receiving a new Coastal Limited Edition trim for the 2022 model year, joined by the newly announced Shelby GT500 Heritage Edition.

Coastal Limited Edition Mustangs will feature unique 19-inch wheels, rear side scoops, and vinyl side stripes which travel underneath the windows and across the hood. Other exterior trim pieces include a special black grille and pedestal spoiler; color options are limited to Rapid Red, Cyber Orange, and Brittany Blue.

Along with the Mustang Premium interior, Coastals will be topped off with an exclusive instrument panel badge and lighted door sill plates.

This announcement comes weeks after Ford unveiled the 2022 California Special trim, a returning nameplate in the Mustang line. The Coastal Limited Edition will be available on EcoBoost Premium fastbacks and convertibles, maintaining the California Special’s GT-exclusivity. Including destination fees, the 2022 Mustang EcoBoost Premium starts at $33,420; the Coastal package will add an additional $1,995.

The performance-oriented Shelby GT500 makes it's return for the 2022 model year, this time with an additional Heritage Edition package. The only noticeable difference is the finish-- Brittany Blue with either vinyl or hand-painted painted stripes. The painted stripes are available in either Wimbledon White or Absolute Black, whereas the vinyls are only available in Wimbledon, though they sport unique GT500 side stripes.

The GT500 Heritage Edition will still tout the powerful 5.2-liter supercharged “Predator” engine and 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. This combination creates Ford’s most powerful production Mustang ever, advertised at putting down 760 horsepower and 625 lb-ft of torque.

In related news, the Ford Performance-exclusive paint color, Code Orange, will be offered on non-Heritage Edition GT500s. Including destination fees and gas guzzler tax, the 2022 GT500 starts at $76,695. The Heritage Edition package is an additional $2,140 or $12,140 for the hand-painted stripes.
