Genesis has revealed their updated flagship sedan, the G90, with an album of exterior images highlighting the first full model change of the G90 since it's 2018 refresh.

This latest rendition will be available as either a normal sedan or a long-wheelbase version. This model will have an extended wheelbase in order to provide extra space for the rear seats.

The refreshed G90 follows an “Athletic Elegance” design philosophy; as such, the new model is headed by a new Crest Grille and Two-line headlights, said to resemble the brand’s emblem. The grille is finished in a layered finish, giving off a three-dimensional effect. The headlights are said to be the thinnest ever made by Genesis, achieved by intercrossing the daytime runners with the low beams.

A Clamshell hood combines the hood and fenders in a single panel, eliminating panel gaps. This trend is continued across the side profile of the G90 thanks to it’s “Parabolic Line and Daylight Opening (DLO)” design. In terms of appearance, the DLO refers to the uniform side profile of the windows and pillars. Essentially, these body lines start at the hood and travel along the bottom of the windows and towards the trunk, adding on to the G90’s sleek appearance.

“The G90 will redefine the flagship luxury design experience in a unique way only offered by Genesis.” according to Head of Genesis Global Design, SangYup Lee. “The G90 is the ultimate expression of Athletic Elegance that carefully balances dynamic driving and an elegant rear seat experience.”

The refreshed G90 will be bookended by exclusive front and rear bumper designs, with chrome decorations on it's rims. Chrome can also be spotted on the DLOs that surround the windows and B-pillar. The rear bumper is also cornered by Two-Line taillights, elongated along the trunk.

Official order and release dates have yet to be revealed, but we’ll keep you posted here on MotorWeek!
