According to multiple sources, General Motors is moving engineers that were key in developing the new midengined Corvette Stingray to the company’s electric and autonomous vehicle teams. The move results from a corporate desire to inject future EVs and AVs with the driving excitement of their iconic sports car. General Motors previously said it would spend $20 billion on electric and autonomous vehicles over the next five years, and is committed to introducing 20 EVs in global markets in the next three years. The engineering move is not expected to interfere with future Corvette models, and in fact may lead credence to the rumored all-electric version of the Stingray.
