J.D. Power has released it's annual vehicle-dependability survey and after a year's absense Lexus has returned to the top spot, followed by Porsche in second place, and Kia in third, the highest rank of any mass market brand. Rounding out the top tier, Toyota is in fourth place with two GM brands, Cadillac and Buick, tieing for fifth place. Overall the industry saw a significant 10% improvement in dependability over the first three years of ownership measured for 2018 models. Tesla was included in the survey for the first time, and while not officially ranked, fell below the survey's average score. Power noted that Tesla's issues stem from basic manufacturing faults and not due to their all-electric powertrains.
