Jeep is launching an all new Freedom Package for the Wrangler and Gladiator vehicles.

The Freedom Package, available for the 2023 model year, is a military-themed limited edition option. Going beyond the aesthetic and operational enhancements, Jeep will make a $250 donation to military charities for each unit sold.

The phrase “military-themed” when applied to the Jeep moniker often spurs the thoughts of olive drab green-painted Willy’s traversing the hedgerows of Europe or the muddy trails outside of Saigon; but these new vehicles are far from it. The promotional image shows a silver-painted Wrangler and Gladiator proudly stanced in front of Old Glory. It’s unclear if other colors will be available, but the Freedom package is available on the Sport S trim-- on the Wrangler, that’s nine colors for 2023, including “Sarge Green.”

That paint is extended onto the body-colored fender flares, contrasted by black wheels and accents. The sides are protected by steel rock rails, meshing well with the winch-capable steel front bumper. LED headlamps and fog lamps are included, too. Inside, both the Gladiator and Wrangler receive leather-trimmed cloth seats and black accent stitching.

All Freedom package units will wear an American flag decal on each side of the vehicle, as well as an “Oscar Mike” badge on the rear tail or swing gate. “Oscar Mike” is military jargon for “on the move,” a fitting plaque for the active lifestyle-inspired Jeeps to bear.

Freedom Edition Jeeps will add an additional price of $3,295 to Sport S-configured builds. Orders are expected to open later this month and to arrive at dealerships in time for Veterans Day.
