Kia has officially confirmed prices for the upcoming 2023 Niro EV, which starts at $40,745 with destination.

This MSRP is for the Niro EV “Wind” grade, one of two available trims. The “Wave” is the highest configuration available, starting at $45,745 after Kia’s $1,295 destination charge.

Either model is powered by a 64.8 kilowatt hour battery pack, juicing up the 150 kilowatt (201 horsepower) electric motor. It all adds up to an EPA-estimated 253 miles of range, which can be recovered at a Level 3 fast charger, 10 to 80 percent, in under 45 minutes thanks to the 85 kW maximum charging capabilities. Each grade can add a Preserve Package for heated rear seats and a heat pump for faster response from the HVAC system in colder weather.

While both models are properly equipped with necessary features, the Wave adds a few more amenities inside and out. You’ll find LED fog lights upfront, along with LED projector headlights. In back, a Smart Power Tailgate and gloss black rear spoiler. The latter matches various other glossy bits, such as the wheel arch and side sill moldings, upgraded from the Wind’s matte black finish. Power-folding sideview mirrors and a sunroof are among the more noticeable features.

The cabin’s audio system is bumped up from 6-speakers to a 7-speaker system, courtesy of Harmon Kardon. The rearview mirror is auto-dimming and outfitted with a HomeLink Garage Opener, and, speaking of opening, the Wave utilizes Kia’s Digital Key system for easier access. The cabin is lit by LED interior lights, though both trims come standard with ambient lighting fixtures.

The 2023 Kia Niro EV is rocking an all-new, second-generation look, and we actually had a chance to drive it along with its ICE siblings in a recent First Drive. You’ll be able to check out the Niro EV yourself when it arrives in retailers this month in all 50 states.
