The next installment in Kia’s electric vehicle lineup, the EV9 utility, has been teased in a set of short videos on the brand’s official YouTube channel.

The videos showcase the silhouette and lighting features of the upcoming model. The EV9 is slated for an official reveal later this March.

Few details have been shared regarding the EV9. We do know that it will be built on the company’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the same foundation underpinning the Kia EV6, and the Hyundai IONIQ 5 and future IONIQ 6. The EV9 will serve as Kia’s new flagship electric SUV, the “9” denoting its larger size.

We have high hopes for this next entry, especially as Kia has become a major player in the era of electrification. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed Kia’s EV6, first giving it a proper Road Test last season, then hitting the track in the souped-up EV6 GT, and even giving the model our 2023 Drivers’ Choice Award for “Best of the Year.”

We’ll cover the global reveal in detail when it debuts in mid-March. Stay tuned to MotorWeek for more updates.
