The V12 supercar era is coming to an end for Lamborghini, and in order to properly celebrate the end of this roaring chapter of the Italian firm’s life, two one-of-a-kind models have been made: the Invencible coupé and Auténtica roadster.

Both of these models pay tribute to the wild success and unmistakable roar of Lamborghini’s naturally-aspirated V12 engine. Designed by Lamborghini Centro Stile, the two one-offs bring in the best of Lambo DNA– both in terms of appearance and performance.

The models, of course, utilize Lamborghini’s V12; both the Invencible and Auténtica are powered by a 6.5-liter engine mounted longitudinally in the rear. They conjure up 769 horsepower and up to 531 lb-ft of torque. This is sent to all four wheels through a seven-speed ISR gearbox, and keeping things on the proper line is rear-wheel steering. So when it comes to all-out thrills with the visceral experience to match, there’s no question either of these will pay proper homage to their 12-cylinder legacy.

“We have created two one-off cars with their own unique character, inspired by track days and the high-octane circuit environment,” said Mitja Borkert, Automobili Lamborghini Head of Design. “They are designed by Lamborghini Centro Stile, exerting maximum creativity on the V12 platform. These one-off designs draw on our unique design DNA while once again elevating our design heritage to a new level.“

Their designs take in some of the best, most recognizable elements from previous V12 Lamborghini entries, like the Sesto Elemento, Veneno and Reventón, as a way to pay tribute to their aesthetics, but to also bolster performance. Afterall, aero isn’t just for looks– though pieces like the pronounced front splitter and vertical struts do look rather gnarly. The hood air intakes are reminiscent of those found on the Sesto Elemento, and the Lamborghini hexagon motif is used throughout. And in relation to another well-known model, both one-offs actually share the same carbon fiber monocoque from the Aventador.

The unveiling of these two models comes weeks before Lamborghini is slated to reveal their first hybrid sports car.
