Lamborghini has strengthened their Urus SUV lineup with the new Urus S.

The Urus S joins the recently announced Urus Performante. Both models are beefed versions of Lambo’s “Super SUV,” though the former ranks just below the latter.

Still, the Urus S shares the same powertrain and calibrations as the Performante. It packs a 4.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 engine, displacing a devilish 666 CV (657 horsepower) and 850 Nm of torque (627 lb-ft). That means 0-62 mph sprints can be completed in 3.5 seconds; go far enough and you’ll reach a top speed of approximately 190 mph.

Keeping things tight is an adaptive air suspension setup tethered to four street-centric drive modes. Believe it or not, and for those so daring as to take their Urus on the dusty trail, three off-road drive selectors are also available. And announcing your presence, be it on- or off-road, is a retuned exhaust setup said to resonate “a more distinct sound at start-up and a sharper note in each drive mode.”

You can expect some visual upgrades made to the S in order to single it out from the crowd; a new front bumper with matte black stainless steel skid plates is standard, matching the black lines of the grille. The bonnet– er, hood– is of a new carbon fiber design, painted to match the exterior color. The carbon fiber roof, however, is optional, as are 22- and 23-inch wheels, upgrades from the standard 21’s. The interior has also been updated with a revised selection of colors and trimmings, available for the consumer’s personalization pleasure.

Pricing details for the US market are yet to be disclosed, though we suspect it will hover somewhere around current Urus pricing of over $200,000.
