Lexus proves a peak at their electric future with the dramtatic LF-Z Electrifed concept, a curent one-off that also foretells a specific model by mid-decade. At that time Toyota's luxury brand says they will have launched 20 new models, including 10 that will use electric as full or partial power including hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and full battery electric. The brand currently offers 9 such electrified models in various global markets. The LF-Z also debuts a new four-wheel driving force control technology known as “DIRECT4” that generates a superior and highly flexible driving performance by automatically varing power at each individual wheel to in theory eliminate any tendency to over or understeer in corners. The LF-Z also shows an EV evolution of current Lexus front facia styling by filling in their signature spindle grille, which on a pure EV will no longer be needed for internal combustion engine cooling.
