Mercedes-AMG is celebrating their 55 year anniversary by releasing four special models based on their 2023 AMG GLE SUVs and Coupes.

Specifically, the four models are based on the AMG GLE 53 and 63 S SUVs, and the AMG GLE 53 and 63 S Coupes. These are aptly referred to as the “Edition 55” models; not just because of the anniversary, but also due to their availability. Each of the four models will only run for 55 units in the US market.

Whether it’s the GLE SUV or Coupe, the 55 Edition will be finished in Obsidian Black Metallic or MANUFAKTUR Diamond White Metallic paint.Their side profiles are broken up by special contrast foiling highlighting the AMG insignia, and all four corners ride on 22-inch AMG forged wheels. Even the fuel cap is exclusive, finished in silver chrome with AMG lettering-- revealed only when the filler door is opened.

Inside, the cabin is defined by its black and red color scheme. Greeting occupants are the stainless steel door sills, lit up by red AMG lettering. The Nappa leather seats are wrapped in a two-tone red/black finish, extending over to the door panels and center console. The AMG Performance steering wheel is wrapped in microfiber and completed by AMG and Edition 55 badges, and even the black AMG floor mats boast red contrast stitching and Edition 55 lettering.

Each Edition 55 comes with a tailor-made AMG indoor car cover. The 2023 AMG GLE SUV and Coupe Edition 55’s will reach the market sometime later this year.
