Volvo’s electrified subbrand Polestar has already made its mark by designing a pair of visually fascinating plug-in electrics. Now, with the Precept concept, they are giving us a clearer view of where they are headed long term. The upcoming Polestar 3 SUV will likely use some styling cues from the Precept 4-door. However, new details about the Precept reveal that the obviously high-tech brand wants to wear some of its advanced thinking on its sleeve, or in this case, its grille. Polestar has designated the front of the Precept a “smart zone”. Within it will be various labeled sensors such as a camera and lidar displayed in all their uniquely shaped glory. Other obvious frontal touches include a wing that is integrated into the hood to improve airflow and extend driving range. In addition, air ducts behind the front wheels allow air to exit smoothly also reducing drag. All of this and more lends a special touch of sophistication to what is already a stunning sedan concept.
