Earlier this year we reported on Porsche’s vision of bringing a Pixar character to life, and now they’ve announced that the one-of-a-kind 911 Sally Special will be up for grabs.

The special ride will be sold by RM Sotheby’s on August 20th at the world-renowned Monterey Car Week. Like many special auctions, proceeds from the sale will go on to support two charities: Girls Inc. and USA for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency.

For those not up-to-date on Pixar lore, the Sally Special is inspired by the character Sally Carrera from the animated Cars movies. As such, it’s lacquered in a special “Sally Blue Metallic” paint, contrasted by special “Turbo” inspired wheels. The team even included a special decal to simulate the character’s “pinstripe tattoo.” Going beyond looks, the Sally Special is capable of holding its own in the performance realm.

“The Sally Special is based on the fastest, most engaging and agile 911 Carrera there is – the 473 hp 911 Carrera GTS – equipped with a manual gearbox to appeal to those who love driving, just like Sally Carrera,” said Boris Apenbrink, Director Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur Vehicles.

The project, which began in November 2021, was a collaboration between key members of Porsche's design team and members of Pixar, including Jay Ward,Creative Director of Franchise, and Bob Pauley, Production Designer for Cars. Pauley originally sketched Sally 20 years ago.

Only time will tell how much Porsche’s “Sally Special” will ring up at the auction block, but we can’t wait to see it!
