MotorWeek is at the Porsche Experience Center in Atlanta, Georgia for an early preview of the all-electric Taycan where the German automaker announced a partnership with tech-giant, Apple. When the Porsche Taycan hits dealers later this year, it will be the world’s first vehicle with Apple Music integrated into its infotainment system. Instead of relying on users’ phones running Apple CarPlay, the Taycan will have the music app built-in and linked to their Porsche ID. In order to use the application, the car must be connected to the internet via in-car data, which will be complementary (including roaming) to Taycan buyers for three years. A free subscription to Apple Music will also be provided for up to six months to all current and new Porsche owners. With full integration, users will have access to their existing Apple Music library and the capability to add songs to their playlists while listening to them live on terrestrial or satellite radio. That music is then pumped through either a BOSE or Burmeister High-End Surround Sound System. Porsche has even included a number of curated preloaded playlists. The Taycan is Porsche’s first all-electric vehicle and will make its world debut on September 4th. We’ll have all the information and First Drive impressions as soon as it’s released.
