We talk a lot about the instant torque that comes from electric vehicles. Mini is taking that experience to the max. The company is testing the MINI Cooper SE. To show just how powerful emission-free driving can be they headed to the Frankfurt airport. That’s where a close-to-series prototype MINI Cooper SE took on the role of aircraft tug, and towed a Boeing 777F freight aircraft. There was no cargo onboard, but the plane still weighs around 150 tons.
BMW Group, which owns MINI, is of course no stranger to EVs. They already have the BMW i3, and have been showing the BMW Vision iNEXT concept. The MINI Cooper SE is scheduled to go into production at the plant in Oxford, Great Britain in November 2019.
