It’s been quite a year for many of the brands falling under the Stellantis umbrella, and this year they’re going all-out for the 2022 Speciality Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show.

We’ve seen numerous drops from Dodge, Jeep, Ram and more. Most of these are, naturally, customized rides made specifically to highlight the outstanding degree of personalization possible, but we’ve gotten some more info about an exciting EV prospect.

Daytona SRT

We’ve already showcased the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT Concept, but what we couldn’t report on was the previously undisclosed power output. Well, now we can, but it gets a little confusing.

There are two different output models, the 340 kilowatt and 440 kilowatt. The base 340 kW will displace 455 horsepower, whereas the base 440 kW will put down 590 horsepower. On top of that, both models receive two performance upgrades, eStage 1 and 2. That means 495 horsepower and 535 horsepower in the 340 kW (now 370 kW and 400 kW output), and 630 horsepower and 670 horsepower in the 440 kW (now 470 kW and 500 kW) respectively. Direct Connection Stage 1 and Stage 2 upgrades use a “crystal” key that plugs into the dash. Power output for the 800-volt Banshee will be released at a later date.

Oh, and it’s red now. Stryker Red, to be exact.

Direct Connection

Speaking of the Dodge aftermarket performance parts vendor, Direct Connection is expanding their line of crate engines with the Hellephant and HurriCrate series. The former boasts the most powerful lineup of GEN III HEMI-powered cast iron and aluminum engines to date, ranging from an estimated 900 horsepower to more than 1,100.

The all-new 3.0-liter, twin-turbo HurriCrate series will include a Cat 1 version, delivering up to 420 horsepower, and a Cat 3, estimated up to 550 horsepower. A HurriCrate racing engine, the Cat X, is under development and will make landfall alongside a future Drag Pak.

And if neither of those will work for your ultimate dragster, a new 1500 HEMI Crate Engine, offered by DSR Performance, will displace a titular 1,500 horsepower and 1,000 lb-ft of torque.

Jeep CJ Surge Concept

The idea of sticking new powertrains and equipment in old bodies is nothing new; heck, it’s the entire basis of restomodding. Still, every year we see a handful of modernized classics we have to showcase. The Jeep CJ Surge Concept is one of them. Under the hood is a 400-volt, 200 kW Electric Drive Module mounted to the frame via custom solid motor mounts, drawing power from 24 lithium-ion battery modules located in a custom housing in the rear of the passenger cabin. The true 4×4 system uses a two-speed Jeep transfer case with selectable gearing to deliver torque, and front/rear Dana 44 Crate axles provide enhanced off-road crawling.

Down to the ground are 18×9-inch Black Rhino Solid wheels with Surf Blue accents, wrapped in 35-inch BF Goodrich all-terrain tires. The Copper Canyon body is held high by a 2-inch lift.

A few other Jeeps have made their way to SEMA, many of which were seen in this year’s Jeep Easter Safari.

Ram 1500 x 2

Ram is on display with two 1500 pickups, the first being this TRX Gold Shot concept. The most obvious change is the Satin Bitter Yellow and Satin Black livery, carrying large TRX side graphics. All four corners see Vintage Bronze 18×9.5-inch Black Rhino Chamber wheels and 37-inch BF Goodrich tires. The RamBar accessory bar sees a pair of 14-inch TYRI rectangular LED lights, and custom metal skid plates are bolted underneath. The bed has plenty of room and easy access for your smaller off-road toys– in this case, two dirt bikes. Though you might already be having too much fun with the TRX’s supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI.

The 1500 Backcountry X Concept builds off of the RamBox cargo management system with custom designed RamPack and RamRack features. The former opens via a single carbon fiber hatch-type panel, expanding storage space more than 68 percent. The RamRack showcases further development of the 1500’s telescoping storage-rack. Thule cross-rails run above the bed for more gear mounting, and 2-inch TYRI LED lights sit at each corner. Though the brightest elements may be the anodized orange side stripes and accents along the hood, tow hooks and grille badge. The 2-inch lift accommodates 20×9 Fuel Heater wheels and 37-inch BF Goodriches.
