What happens on the field of the Super Bowl is naturally the big draw, but what happens between the plays also gets a lot of attention.  General Motors will give us a glimpse of their first all-electric truck with a powerful name from the past.  The GMC HUMMER EV also comes with powerful numbers: an estimated 1,000 horsepower and 11,500 lb-ft of torque.  With that kind of force and the instant torque EV’s bring to the road, 0-to-60 mph is expected to happen in 3 seconds.

GMC is keeping the suspense going.  This tease shot is all they’re showing so far.  A 30-second TV spot is scheduled to air during the second quarter of the Super Bowl.  However, the reveal of the GMC HUMMER EV is scheduled for May 20, 2020.

Earlier this week we told you GM will renovate their Detroit-Hamtramck facility to be their first fully-dedicated electric vehicle assembly plant.  That’s where the GMC HUMMER EV will be built.  GM has said production of their first all-electric truck is scheduled to begin in late 2021.
