It may be cold in most parts of the country, but Triumph has us thinking of warmer weather and long rides with the debut of the 2021 Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS.  The revamped design not only takes the “Triple” to a new level of performance, but looks to set a new benchmark for the naked sportbike segment.  The heart of the matter is a new 1,160cc I3 engine with close to 180-horsepower.  Suspension and brakes have of course been addressed as well, along with weight reduction.  All the usual things that go into making a great bike greater!  It sports a slightly more aggressive riding position with improved ground clearance, changes that make it better for track day, but not so much long-distance riders.  An all-new 5-inch TFT instrument panel is packed full of information for the rider, offers turn-by-turn navigation through the MyTriumph app, and of course a lap timer.  Lots of riding aids like Optimized Cornering ABS, multi-mode Traction Control, and Enhanced Front Wheel Lift Control (can be dialed back) are included as well.  What minimal bodywork there is has been updated with a slightly more intense look, and showcases Triumph’s attention to detail.  Priced at $18,300.

While the Triumph Speed Triple 1200 RS is probably not a great choice for your very first motorcycle, Triumph also recently announced a partnership with the Motorcycle Safety Foundation to help those interested in riding get on the road.  Anyone who goes to TriumphRider.com can get a promo code for a free 3-hour MSF Basic eCourse to get them started.
