The all-new 2022 Volkswagen Taos debuts with a bold exterior design, practical but refined interior, advanced technology, and available 4Motion all-wheel drive. Slotting below the Tiguan, Taos offers Volkswagen’s signature driving dynamics, high quality, and smart packaging in a smaller package with a lower price tag.The 2022 Taos will be available in three trim levels—S, SE, and SEL. All versions of the Taos are powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged and direct-injection engine making 158 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque.

Dimensionally, Taos sits at the middle of the entry-compact SUV space at 175.8 inches long—9.3 inches shy of Tiguan. The front-wheel-drive Taos has a wheelbase of 105.9 inches; it is 72.5 inches wide and 64.4 inches tall. The all-wheel-drive Taos has a wheelbase of 105.6 inches, and stands in at 72.5 inches wide and 64.6 inches tall. Inside, Taos offers plenty of room for all passengers, with 40.1 inches of legroom in the front and 37.9 in the rear, along with up to 27.9 cu ft of luggage space behind the second-row seats and 65.9 cu ft with the second row folded down.

Taos boasts a technology package that includes the latest driver assistance technologies offered by Volkswagen. The Volkswagen Digital Cockpit is fitted as standard, along with the next-generation Volkswagen Car-Net telematics system. Volkswagen’s MIB3 infotainment system—with wireless charging and wireless App-Connect for compatible devices, is available, as well as SiriusXM with 360L and the IQ.DRIVE driver assistance suite, Light Assist, and Dynamic Road Sign Display.

Toas is anticipated to arrive at U.S. Volkswagen dealerships in June, with a starting price of $24,190 for the front-wheel drive Taos S and $26,235 with 4Motion all-wheel drive.
