Volkswagen’s recently revealed ID. Buzz electric microbus will make an appearance at the New York International Autoshow, open to the public April 15th through the 24th.

Following last month’s reveal of the ID. Buzz at the South by Southwest media festival, Volkswagen will allow New York attendees to scope out the reincarnated microbus for themselves. Along with the exhibit on the showroom floor, at least one ID. Buzz will do the rounds on the show’s Electric Vehicle Test Track-- passengers only; no test drives.

The ID. Buzz will launch in Europe later this year, and a North American version constructed with a longer wheelbase is expected to debut next year-- slated for a 2024 launch. Configurable as either a passenger or cargo model, the ID. Buzz will ride atop VW’s new Modular Electric Drive (MED) Kit. Euro-specced models will be powered by an 82 kWh battery, sending power to the rear motor for 201 horsepower and 229 lb-ft of torque. Additional batteries and output levels are expected in 2023.

We’re excited to catch a glimpse of the Volkswagen ID. Buzz next week at the show, and we’ll have more details for you soon. In the meantime, check out our First Look to get caught up on this electronically-resurrected microbus.
