Volkswagen’s electric efforts meet a milestone as series production of the brand’s first all-electric SUV, the ID.4, gets underway in Zwickau, Germany. The world premiere of the ID.4 follows at the end of September. Volkswagen is now making good on its promise and goal to become a world market leader in e-mobility. While it began life as the slick ID.Cross concept three years ago, the production model has evolved with a more conventional appearance for broader buyer appeal.The production ID.4 compact SUV will have a range of 310 miles between charges when it arrives here in 2021. The North American model will be built at VW's pant in Chattanooga, TN.
