The tweaked 2018 Kia Soul is bringing more tech to more of its faithful fans. Not long after arriving here for the 2010 model year, its quirky design, low price, and those cute rodent television spots propelled it to be one of the brand’s top sellers.

For 2018, the UVO3 infotainment system becomes standard on the Base model’s Convenience Package, and to the Soul Plus. Smart Cruise Control and Autonomous Emergency Braking are now added to The Soul Plus Primo Package.

This city dwelling crossover carries over 3-engine choices. The 1.6-liter Soul comes with a 6-speed manual, but a 6-speed automatic is standard with the 2.0 liter. The one that’s the most soul stirring… is the 1.6-liter turbo introduced last year. It generates 201-horsepower, and works with a 7-speed DCT.

Over time, ride quality and handling have improved creating a solid and agile daily commuter.

On sale now, the 2018 Kia Soul starts at $16,100.
