It looks like Audi’s EV lineup is expanding, with the 2020 e-tron Sportback. This more stylish derivative of last year’s e-tron SUV, is set to arrive here in the U.S. this summer.

Most of the specs are the same as the original E-tron, meaning a twin-motor arrangement, with one up front and one in rear for all-wheel-drive and a combined output of 402-horsepower. Max range is just 218-miles from the 95kWh battery, but it offers some of the fastest charging in the business, adding 174-miles in as little as 30 minutes with 150kW high speed charging.

"With the new updates to the exterior, this car definitely looks like a completely different animal compared to the 2019 e-tron. It looks like it could potentially be the big brother to the A5 Sportback because they are very similar in their silhouette, it's just that the e-tron Sportback takes up more space. Either way, this car is sure to turn heads with the new styling choices Audi has made."

The big draw here is obviously the coupe-like silhouette of the Sportback, with sharply angled D-pillars lending a sportier hatchback vibe. While the front end gets some tweaks of its own just to keep up.

"The Sportback definitely adds style to the e-tron, but you do lose out on some cargo space. It’s down to about 22 cubic feet compared to 28 in the standard e-tron. Still it’s a beautiful, tech-laden interior that solidifies it as a truly modern electric utility vehicle."

There’s still plenty of space inside to take up to four friends along, and the ability to tow up to 4,000-lbs. of fun behind.

Adaptive air suspension delivers a smooth and confident ride, while the wealth of standard features provide the lavish experience we’ve come to appreciate from Audi.

After this e-tron Sportback, the next Audi EV to arrive will be the 2021 Q4 e-tron, part of the brand’s plan to have 20 EVs on the road by 2025. That’s a lot of new EVs in the next 5-years; and we’ll have info on all of them.
