The all-electric Porsche Taycan has quickly become one of the brand’s best-selling models since its debut in 2020. So it isn’t surprising that the Taycan lineup is filling up with plenty of variations, the latest being the 2022 Taycan GTS sedan.

The GTS slots between the Taycan 4S and Taycan Turbo, with a fantastic mix of performance and luxury.

The exterior sees plenty of black accents with SportDesign front fascia, side skirts with the GTS logo, and 20-inch black satin wheels. Inside, you’ll find Race-Tex material with more GTS logos and black accents. The Sport Chrono Package includes the GT Multifunction Steering Wheel and Mode Dial.

The familiar two-motor setup will get you a max of 590-horsepower and 626 lb-ft of torque for a 3.5 second 0-60. The 93 kWh battery paired with its 800-volt architecture can charge to 80% charge in 22 and a half minutes. The official EPA numbers aren’t out yet but range will likely be around 225 miles.

Standard performance features include Adaptive Air Suspension with Smart Lift and Porsche Active Suspension Management as well as Torque Vectoring Plus. Rear-Axle Steering, Dynamic Chassis Control Sport, and 21-inch RS Spyder Design wheels are optional.

The suspension carries over from the top-of-the-line Turbo S but is tuned for everyday GTS comfort. Porsche brought us out to Willow Springs to see just how well the Taycan GTS’s performance can mix with luxury.

“It’s truly incredible how well the Taycan manages itself here on the track just because of its sheer weight and size, I mean...the cons of electrification. But the pros of electrification...that this instant power and the lower center of gravity still make it so incredibly fast and confident here on the track.”

The 2022 Porsche Taycan GTS sedan starts around $133,000 and will start arriving at dealerships in Spring 2022.

We’ll have more on all things Taycan coming up soon on MotorWeek!
