Porsche sedans are nothing new, but when they released the all-electric Taycan in 2020, it turned heads and quickly became a hot-seller-- and for good reasons. The satisfaction of an electric powertrain, the handling of a purebred Porsche, and the luxury of a Panamera; what’s not to love?

Well, Porsche has doubled down on their all-electric all-star by adding two more models to the lineup: The Taycan GTS, and GTS Sport Turismo wagon.

That’s right: Porsche has added to their EV wagon-esque stable, but let’s start with some more familiar territory.

The GTS slots between the Taycan 4S and Taycan Turbo, blending the realms of performance and pampering. Styling isn’t far behind, either; featuring black accents, a SportDesign front fascia, GTS logos on the side skirts, and 20-inch black satin wheels.

Now, about the wagon. The same as other Taycan Grand Turismos, the primary addition to the GTS sedan is an extended rear cabin. That extra room adds more versatility for more and larger cargo.

The Taycan GTS and GTS Sport Turismo utilize a two-motor setup, reaching a max of 590-horsepower and 626 lb-ft of torque. That adds up to 3 1/2 second 0-60 times. And after all the fun, their 93 kWh batteries can charge to 80% in 22 and a half minutes. Range is expected to be around 225 miles.

Speed is great, but a proper Porsche must carry it through the corners. Fortunately, the GTS’s muscles are lean, rounded out by an adaptive air suspension and torque vectoring system. Despite being tuned for everyday GTS comfort, it’s quite capable-- something we got to experience for ourselves at Willow Springs Raceway.

Jessica Ray: "It’s truly incredible how well the Taycan manages itself here on the track just because of its sheer weight and size, I mean...the cons of electrification. But the pros of electrification being that this instant power and the lower center of gravity still make it so incredibly fast and confident here on the track."

The 2022 Porsche Taycan GTS sedan starts around $133,000 and around $135,000 for the Sport Turismo. They should start arriving at dealerships this spring. And we’ll have more Quick Spins soon.
