Growing with age, the 2014 Cadillac CTS is longer and leaner but lightweight and driver focused. The hood line and windshield base are about an inch lower. The wheel base is over an inch longer than the current model. It’s aggressive and sporty while keeping its luxurious appearance.

But the performance part is kind of worth mentioning, too. For the first time, Caddy will offer a twin-turbo V6 in the CTS Sport. That's 420 horsepower of rear-wheel drive fun. They'll also offer a 3.6-liter naturally aspirated variant from the current CTS and a 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder from the ATS.

Something’s missing right? The 556 horsepower CTS-V 8-cylinder will also be available for those who just need more.

Ben Davis drove the Sport in Santa Barbara, California and was amused with the handling of a big car. It did, however feel numb at center when pushed hard. While it felt a little light sometimes, it makes all sorts of cool turbo noises. It’s definitely a muscle flexing red white and blue competitor against those pesky Europeans.

If you can manage to drive like a normal human, 17 mpg city, 25 highway is what you can expect.

Your friends will be talking about it and so will we. Check out a full road test of the 2014 Cadillac CTS coming up soon.
