Volkswagen is very proud of their 2014 lineup.  So much so, they decided to fly me to Napa Valley to check out everything they have to offer for the coming year. And while there’s no major news of all-new models, Volkswagen announced they are expanding their R-Line of performance oriented updates to 5-models, which now includes the Beetle Convertible, Touareg, and Tiguan, joining the already available Beetle Coupe and CC R-lines.

What exactly does R-Line include?  Well, it depends on the model, but you can expect a more aggressive looking body kit composed of front and rear fascias and sill extensions, some unique wheels, and a few interior trim updates. Unfortunately you won’t get anything extra under the hood, but that doesn’t mean you won’t get a performance boost.

BRIAN ROBINSON: In addition to the larger wheels, R-line models get a sport suspension that really stiffens things up nicely, especially in the Tiguan and Touareg, making them much more enjoyable to drive.
