The Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, California, has opened up a new exhibit all about Tesla.

The full name of the showcase is “Inside Tesla: Supercharging the Electric Revolution,” and it details the origins, present state and future prospects of the electric vehicle manufacturer. It can be found on the first floor of the Mullin Family Grand Salon and Phillip Sarofirm Porte Cochere.

In this exhibit, examples of the brand’s early concepts and rarely seen prototypes are available for viewing; there’s even a prototype Cybertruck to gawk at. They also feature a 2017 Roadster 2.0 and a 2021 Model S Plaid Nurburgring, and, for the assembly-savvy, there’s an interesting breakdown of a Tesla model suspended from the air.

Other bits include examples and information about some Tesla-adjacent projects from the brand’s energy ecosystem, including SpaceX, The Boring Company and Hyperloop.

“Tesla has revolutionized the automotive, EV, technology, and manufacturing spaces within a relatively short time span, begetting the question, ‘How did they do that?’” said Petersen Automotive Museum Executive Director Terry L. Karges. “This exhibit strives to be a holistic walk-through of how the brand became a global phenomenon and further details what lies ahead.”

If you ever get a chance to visit the Petersen, it’s absolutely worth the trip. Even non-car people may find it fascinating– though it’s obviously geared towards gear heads and automotive history buffs. We’ve covered a few of their exhibits, like 60 Years of Bond and Hollywood Dream Machines.
