Nissan has released pricing details for the 2023 Kicks subcompact SUV, starting at $21,585.

That cost of admission is for the Kicks S, the entry-level model, and includes Nissan’s $1,295 destination charge. This is an MSRP increase of $590 over the 2022 model; destination has increased by $70.

There are two more trims up for grabs, the Kicks SV and Kicks SR, retailing for $23,445 and $24,145 respectively. All three grades are powered by a 1.6-liter inline-4 engine, mated to an “Xtronic” CVT automatic sending 122 horsepower and 114 lb-ft of torque to the front-wheel drive system.

Not much else has changed since the model’s mid-cycle refresh in 2021; all come standard with Nissan Safety Shield 360, as well as smartphone integration. On the S, expect a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display. The SV kicks things up a notch with an 8-inch screen, remote engine start and Intelligent Cruise Control. The exterior is enhanced by 17-inch alloy wheels and silver-painted roof rails.

The SR adds black-painted roof rails and mirrors, plus a dark chrome grille and LED headlights/fog lights upfront. The cabin hosts a leather-wrapped steering wheel, automatic climate control, an Intelligent Around View Monitor, and unique seat fabric. There is an SR Premium package that adds a Bose 8-speaker audio system (two located in the driver’s headrest), heated Prima-Tex front seats, a heated steering wheel and a Wi-Fi hotspot.

We suspect Nissan saw no need in messing with a good thing; after all, don’t fix what isn’t broken. So like the year before, the 2023 Nissan Kicks remains a humble crossover with an attractive price-point for consumers.
