Over the last year or so, we’ve been watching the Vietnamese automaker VinFast closely, from the announcement of their global EV brand at the LA Auto Show last year, to their plans of building an assembly plant in North Carolina and their partnership with Electrify America. And now, the automaker has announced plans to livestream the first deliveries of their VF 8 all-electric SUV.

The aptly named “VF 8 Delivery Ceremony” is to be held at the group’s manufacturing complex in Hai Phong, Vietnam, at 8:30PM PST on Friday, September 9th, and will be livestreamed across the brand’s various media outlets. The official VinFast US Facebook page has created an event for the livestream, also available on their other regional pages.

For those who haven’t kept up with VinFast’s moves since LA, the VF 8 is a renaming of the VF e35, which made headlines at last year’s auto show. The change was announced during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) earlier this year, along with the VF e36’s change to the VF 9.

VinFast is quickly emerging as a potentially large player in the global EV scene, and we’re excited to see how they plan to compete in the US market. We’ll keep you up to date on all the latest here on MotorWeek!
